3 Things You Need to Know About Lash Lifts
Think of Lash Lifts like a perm for your natural eyelashes, a 3 step process makes your straight lashes stand up at attention. Most clients that get a lash lift also get a tint at the same time, your natural lashes are lifted and vegetable dye is used to make the hair darker. There’s 3 important things to know before you get a lash lift:
Results vary and are not guaranteed…unlike eyelash extensions the results cannot be guaranteed by the lash studio. With extensions lashes are applied after discussing the design with the client. With a lift results vary, for some people the natural hair lifts very well and the curl stays. For others, the natural hair refuses to curl or the curl drops after a few days - the problem is there is no way to know if a lash lift will take or not, it’s trial and error.
Keep the dry for 24 hrs min…the perm solution needs to set in order to keep the curl. The longer you can keep your lashes dry the better. You must be kept dry for a minimum of 24 hrs or the curl will drop. If you like to wash your hair every day make sure to wash it before your appt.
8 weeks in between…something that isn’t mentioned to lash lift clients and really should be is how important it is to wait at least 8 weeks in between lash lift appts. The solution used dries the natural hair out and that hair needs an opportunity to recover before it is permed again. Too many studios do a lash lift, don’t inform the client and perform another lash lift within a month. This will fry the natural hair, making it look and feel crispy. We recommend having a lift done, letting the curl fall and then getting a light set of extensions in between lash lift appts.
